Marvel release the first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

If you’re a TV and Film fan you might be aware that San Diego Comic Con was back this weekend. The biggest convention of its kind in the world, it’s no stranger to big announcements, cast reveals, and first looks at trailers. And coming back after a few years out thanks to a certain C word, it had to come back big. And it did.

Since the heartbreaking and untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman in August 2020, Black Panther 2 has been one of the most talked about upcoming Marvel releases - how was it going to go ahead, did the story have to change, how will they pay tribute to him? Back in May 2021, it was announced that the much anticipated sequel would be called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but since then we haven’t heard much.

Until now, because Marvel have gone big at SDCC and dropped the first teaser trailer for the film, and I would like to suggest you grab some tissues.

Got em? Okay, here it is.

They got me crying on this fine Sunday morning. I had no doubt that Ryan Coogler was going to deliver us something really beautiful, that paid tribute to the legacy Chadwick Boseman has left us with whilst also making way for something new. New villains, new worlds, new heroes, it’s all coming. Namor, Atlantis, Ironheart - I can’t help but feel this is going to be the perfect metaphor for forging ahead, finding your new path and responding to change in the wake of grief and pain. This first little glimpse has me exctied, and 100% ready to sob in the cinema.

Let me know your thoughts below!

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is expected in cinemas in November 2022.
