You’re probably so used to seeing Nick Mohammed on TV now with hugely successful roles in Ted Lasso, and his own creation Intelligence - also starring David Schwimmer - his alter-ego Mr Swallow might seem a distant memory. But worry not comedy fans, because Mr Swallow is back, and this time he’s channelling Mr Dickens. Or well, sort of. Berk’s Nest and Nick Mohammed - in association with United Agents - are bringing Christmas cheer to Soho Theatre this December with A Christmas Carol-ish.

The announcement comes after Nick had to cancel his planned appearance at Edinburgh Fringe next month because of filming commitments for Season 3 of Ted Lasso.

Running from December 7th - December 23rd, A Christmas Carol-ish is a musical retelling of the much loved Charles Dickens novel, and absolute Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol. It will also star David Elms and Kieran Hodgson, with further casting still to be announced.

Speaking about his return to stage, Mr Swallow said:

The hugest of thank yous to the Dickens estate for trusting me with this literary classic. I remember studying it at school and never really liking it. But it has been a real privilege getting to take the original text and change all the words, context and overall meaning such that it fits my very specific requirements. I’d also like to point out that this is the longest musical I (and possibly others) have ever written. Fingers crossed it’s not the last!"

Mr Swallow has become a fan favourite in the British comedy scene, appearing multiple times on Channel 4’s Cats Does Countdown, and has more than once gone viral. A clip of him memorising cards has been viewed over 12 million times, and his Jurassic Park rendition stand at over 9 million on Facebook. It has also got stuck in my head about that many times too. He also appeared as Mr. Swallow in Amazon’s hugely successful new series Backstage With Katherine Ryan wowing Jimmy Carr with his sleight of hand.

A Christmas Carol-ish is one for the whole family, with a recommended age of 10+, and a run time of 80 minutes. Tickets go on sale on Thursday July 21st, and are priced from £13 - £32.
